Pancake

Scroll down for English...

Afiyet olsun

Nowadays pancake is a kind of ritual with my youngest cousin Efe (12y) especially when he spends the weekend with me. And I wanted to share the recipe of this ritual for everyone who would like to enjoy their Sunday breakfast.

It is a kind of crepe with slight differences. In Turkey we come across pancake usually at the buffet breakfast of the hotels since this recipe  does not exist in our national cuisine. It is served with maple syrup which is again not in our daily routine.

For my taste it is far better  than a crepe both taste wise and presentation wise which means it is more fun to eat.

You may find below the recipe which is easy to prepare and  delicious at the same time. It is totally up to you how to decorate and present your pancake. You can pick your sauce, syrup, fruits or any kind of chocolate or nut products such as nutella, peanut butter etc. However I would definitely suggest you to try your pancakes with a good quality of molasses.

Ingredients:
1 egg
1 cup of flour
1,5 cup of milk
1 table spoon of baking powder
1 tea spoon of salt
1 table spoon of sugar

Preparation:

Mix well  milk and egg and add flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

Mix well until you have a fluent consistency.

You need to use a flat large pan to cook the pan cakes.

Pour the mixture to the pan in small pieces with a help of small dipper and use the back side of the dipper to enlarge your pan cakes as you wish. 7 cm in diameter would be the perfect size but it is your call to make them larger or smaller.

Repeat the same until your mixture is over. Now you are ready to make your pancake towers and decorate it as you wish.

Enjoy it…
